Values are cornerstones that make our society safe and workable. They are the principles of thought and conduct that help distinguish right from wrong and provide a foundation for decision making. Values, which are sometimes referred to as character, are the basis of who we are, how we live and how we treat others.

The values we try to impact within our civil society, through character development are these six "Core Values":

CARING: to put others before yourself, to love others, to be sensitive to the well-being of others, to help others.

HONESTY: to tell the truth, to act in such a way that are worthy of trust, to have integrity, to make sure your actions match your values.

RESPECT: To treat others as you would have them treat you; to value the worth of every person, including yourself.

RESPONSIBILITY: to do what you should do, to be accountable for your behavior and obligations.

HEALTH: to maintain a balanced and positive lifestyle, to be actively engaged in your own and others well being.

INCLUSION: to accept others for whom they are, to be open to new ideas and methods, to embrace diversity in all respects.

Living with and acting on good values contribute to the development of a healthy self-esteem and overall personal happiness.
