Bangladesh will require more than US$100 billion for attaining the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in order to reduce poverty by half by the year 2015.

It is not possible for Bangladesh to mobilise such a large amount from its internal sources and unless the international community comes forward with effective assistance, it would not be possible for the developing countries to achieve the target.
