SAWA Global, a non-profit organization based in Vancouver, is an online community profiling short videos of remarkable people and projects making a difference in the poorest regions of the world. SAWA connects citizens of all nations to simple actions that lead to global change.
As a SAWA Global Journalist, your role is to find and promote unknown heroes in poverty-stricken countries and report on ways of how others from around the world can support them. In a sense, you are citizen journalist—a storyteller who uses the internet and research skills to identify those heroes (e.g. individuals, groups, community-based organizations, projects) ALREADY making profound and inspiring impact in their local community in areas such as poverty reduction, protection of children, gender equality, and environmental sustainability. You will also help your hero obtain film footage of their “Story of Hope” using local resources. Once a “Story of Hope” has been accepted, you may use your writing skills to create a profile to be featured on the SAWA Global website.

• Access to a computer and the internet
• Ability to speak and write in English
