IGHIH and Energy Action at Clinton Global Initiative

This week, It’s Getting Hot in Here contributing editor Richard Graves and I are attending the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) in New York as credentialed press. We’ll be blogging here on IGHIH and Twittering (via www.twitter.com/powervote and www.twitter.com/jake_brewer), with particular emphasis on panels and commitments focused clean energy and green economies. Tune in for live updates.

Additionally - and hugely exciting - The Energy Action Coalition’s “Power Shift 2009” is a featured project of this year’s CGI, and on Thursday, EAC executive director Jessy Tolkan and co-founder Billy Parrish will receive a commitment certificate from President Bill Clinton.  We can’t wait to share the photos and video from the event.

Here is the rundown on this year’s meeting

Clinton Global Initiative 2008

And a short description:

“The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) is a non-partisan catalyst for action that brings together a community of global leaders from various backgrounds to devise and implement innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

Today, CGI is reaching even more leaders in diverse regions, future leaders from college campuses, and global citizens through a community of projects evolving from CGI’s unique model that focuses on taking action. Since 2005, CGI members have made nearly 1,000 commitments valued at upwards of $30 billion to impact more than 200 million lives in over 150 countries.”

What are some of the things you hope world leaders will discuss at this year’s gathering?
