Utility companies are going to f*ck all of you.

For those of us living in San Francisco - we know that Proposition H (the SF Clean Energy Act) is one of the most hotly contested political fights in town. An amazing groundswell of support and endorsements for Prop H grow everyday - pulling in visionaries like Bill McKibben, the majority of our local Board of Supervisors (What SF calls our City Council), and a real grassroots outpouring. But our local utility (Pacific Gas and Electric) has already spent over $5 million dollars to defeat the initiative -employing dishonest messaging and misinformation on the issues, running dozens of TV ads, and hiring canvassers to put their misinformation on every door in the city.

But outside of SF - people are watching Prop H  around the country as  this is potentially the most courageous, bold, and precedent-setting piece of legislation addressing climate and energy crises ever.

What Proposition H does:

  • Ensure 51% renewable energy for San Francisco by 2017, 75% by 2030, and 100% by 2040
  • Generate thousands of good, Green Jobs locally
  • Let communities decide how they get their energy, and from whom
  • Lower consumer’s utility bills
  • Allow communities to reclaim energy infrastructure from greedy, corrupt utilities (like Pacific Gas and Electric) and place energy under community control
  • Set a precedent for what other communities can  achieve (and several other nearby cities are already working on similar initiatives)

Prop H really is a game-changing move, and it has implications well beyond San Francisco. Learn more at the Yes on H website!

Oh right - the title of the post? Watch the creative video below for a good laugh!
