Youth empowerment on SRHR . Post # 5

Hi all!

This is my last post, and I want to share some points of the evaluation of the project.

About the achievement of the expected results, we exceeded the expectations about the young people involved in the project design, implementation and evaluation. We think it was because this project was developed between other habitual activities so it not demands so much extra time or extra meetings. Also, to do an event to share experiences and meet peers it's an attractive proposal for the young people.

One of the lessons learned is related to the deadlines, the end of the project was at the same time as the vacation period, generating difficulties in systematizing the experience and writing up the financial and final reports. That circumstance could be anticipated for and alternatives could be planned in order to comply with the deadlines.

For the youth involved in the project, it was an opportunity to personal empowerment, and for the YHN to strengthen. Having a common and concrete goal of moving forward with the work, and the process was useful in improving their communication, negotiation and organization skills.

For me was an opportunity to improve my abilities coordinating a project, working with co-workers in different areas (administration, communication) and giving adequate technical assistance to the young people.

Thank you again for reed and best for the new grantees!

Betiana.

The end

Dear all, I am coming today to share with you the last toughs about my project. That was wonderfull experience be working all this months in the project.
I had several challenges in the project, and alread shared with you during in monthly basis.
Today I want just underline some of the challenge. for me one of biggest was to begin the project during election time, when the political organizations was running political activities.
Despite we posteponed a week to start the trainnings it was a great.
He talked with several goverment institutions and we could run the project.
When young people want to implement advocacy activities, is not easy because some times they are seems as oppositors.
In this project the some of sucessfull was get involved several youth and govermment institutions.
As well was really good that the Goverment Institutions received our recommendations for netx strategic AIDS plan.
But in this point we still have a big challenge.
The first is see if our recomendation will be at finnal document, make sure that could reflected and included our ideas at finnal document. and bring the youth and rural face for the document.
The second challenge is to see the implementation of our ideas, I mean all ideas reflected in the finnal documment be implemented in the field (main in rural areas).
For that we will have a monitoring team those could follow the full implementation.
This team could evaluate the progress and make recommendation in regular basis. The plan is create a team with young people from differents parts of the province as well acting in different field.
At this team we also want people those have been involved in the project.
