Elections

Upcoming New Zealand elections - who are you going to vote for and why? What is your vision for this country?

I am still undecided. I can't figure out who to vote for especially since so much of the campaign is about taking down the opposition and not promoting their own policies. I am confused between the claims of the two major parties. One says that they can afford tax cuts without jeopardising essential services, while the other says this is not true. One says to provide for need, not race while others say this is racism. One is offering an interest-free student loan while the other is making the interest tax-deductable.

Mostly I don't really understand what all this means because - how am I supposed to know the budget and how this affects services? But how can I take their word for it when I know they just want my vote and when they get in, they probably won't deliver a lot of what they are promising? But then do I really want them to deliver EVERYTHING? Because frankly each party has some good points and some bad ones...

Confused...

Welcome!

OK, so this group blogging is obviously a new thing at TIG because some of the pages aren't working such as the management of members and also, on the settings page it says "bla bla bla edit text settings...blah blah blah" which is a bit funny to me...
