Young Leaders for Sustainable Cities World Urban Café
To inform the debate surrounding youth leadership and development specifically as it relates to UN Habitat's workplan for the next 2 years.

At UN-Habitat’s World Urban Forum for Youth (WUFY) in June 2006, 500 youth leaders posed the following recommendations to decision-makers:
• Mainstream youth in UN-Habitat programs
• Enable youth led development for sustainable cities
• Establish a youth fund or similar mechanisms to support youth led initiatives

Youth from both developed and developing countries all agree that these are the actions required to manage the challenges of the world’s now predominantly urban population. We think they deserve to be pursued. Environmental Youth Alliance (EYA), as the organizing body for the WUFY, is spearheading an effort to follow-up on the recommendations made by youth leaders.

Youth Fund !
Related to country: Haiti

Hi everybody,

I am very pleased to participate in this forum.

I support the youth fund initiative. I think this is a way for the oung people to find the necessary fung that will allow them to support their Community Projects.

I hope that the fund will be a reality and be available as soon as possible.
I would suggest that all the mecanisms are put in place for the creation and the management of that fund.

Looking forward to hearing from others,

All the best !!!
